Committee Update

Whilst everyone is preparing for Easter, we thought we would give you an update on what has been going on. Apart from the obvious work that is going into our forthcoming production of “A Bunch of Amateurs” by Rachael and her team (Tickets still available…why haven’t you booked yet? 😉 ), the group continues with other projects. The Cast of “Corpse!” are line learning (Who doesn’t love line learning? Oh…Everyone!….OK), and Kirsty and her team are preparing stage designs. We then have the Summer School production of “The Strain of Thrones” which is currently being penned and prepared by Keith. “Hotel Paradiso” will soon be upon us, and Keith and Allan are preparing for auditions and directing. Hayley is starting her preparation for “The Elephant Man”, and there are rumours of some scenes for next years Pantomime already being written! Surely not!?

Apart from that, we have our new Audio Drama venture which is going well. Ann and her team have started work on recording of “Driven Mad”. Editing work should start in the next week or so, Keith (Badham) has now changed the title of his series of Audio comedy dramas. It was originally titled “Home”, but sadly Channel four decided to release a sitcom of the same name! So the new title for our series is “Carry me home”. What started as a one -off has now begun to take shape as a series with 6 episodes planned. Two are already written. Watch this space for a read-through social evening. Clare and Ann have been discussing a production of Clare’s play in Audio format as well…so lots of exciting projects in the pipeline. On top of this, the normal business of the committee continues. We are currently reviewing ticket prices and the administration of them. The recent Garage clear out was excellent, and Keith (Bowie) has fitted lighting in there. We are looking forward to May 4th, for the Internal Garage and Loft clear-out (Watch this space for nagging and details!). The committee are also looking at possible social events.

We are also looking forward to the NODA awards next month, and are keeping our fingers crossed that we might win something!

We will be represented at the St. Nicholas church fete this year with a Barton Players stall…more details to follow.

With the AGM fast approaching, the committee will be preparing and planning for that.

So apart from that….it’s all fairly quiet!
